Diarrhea Dehydration
According to the World Health Organization
- 4,000 children die daily from diarrhea dehydration worldwide.
- 1 child in every 21 seconds dies from this condition.
- Diarrhea is the second leading cause of death for children under the age of five – killing 1.5 million annually, more than malaria, AIDS, and measles combined.
A Healthcare Crisis Due to the Lack of Clean Water and Proper Sanitation Facilities
Today 2.5 billion people lack access to proper sanitation facilities and ~800 million don’t have a clean water source within 6 miles. They lack the means to easily transport precious clean water back home. The problem is compounded by the fact that most of the families affected are destitute, living in unsanitary conditions, with negligible local resources and services to deal with the health problems that inevitably result.
Young children are the most vulnerable, with incidence of diarrhea spiking during the first two years of life. In addition to the possibility of death, frequent episodes in early childhood can contribute to morbidity, malnutrition, stunting and learning challenges which carry long-term consequences for educational attainment and income generation. LiveLeaf’s LifeDrops offers the first safe and reliable solution for children afflicted from diseases caused by severe diarrhea and diarrhea dehydration.
Legacy Through Giving Foundation’s Life Saving Efforts to Save Children Dying from Diseases Caused by Severe Diarrhea and Lack of Clean Water Supply
Our organizations 2018 goal is to raise $50,000, all of which will be directed towards purchasing and distributing a life-saving nutritional supplement called LifeDrops, a natural and effective patented plant-based supplement developed by LifeLeaf (San Carlos, CA). Diarrhea is the second leading cause of death among children under five in developing countries. LifeDrops delivers effective diarrhea relief to families and especially children in at-risk communities around the world. An agreement has been made between LifeLeaf and LTG Foundation that each dose will just cost $1 to save a child.
